DANIELLE + ANTHONY • HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA
KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA WEDDING | 05.14.16
Anthony and Danielle were first introduced to one another at a mutual friends costume party. When it came time for him to ask her for her hand in marriage he chose to surprise her after Easter Mass. He proposed in front of their entire parish with all of their friends and family surrounding them. And the two began planning their Hollywood, California wedding for the Spring of 2016.
With respect to tradition, the couple decided not to see one another before the ceremony. The ceremony took place in a large Catholic cathedral, St Charles Borromeo. To commemorate their wedding day & in anticipation of that long walk down the aisle, they chose to exchange gifts during while they were getting ready. Danielle surprised him with a new set of gold clubs, while Anthony wowed her and her bridesmaids with the stunning emerald ring he gifted his soon to be bride. Tradition and family are important to them both. Danielle had a jean patch sewn into her Allure Couture bridal gown that served as her Something Blue and was in memory of her late father. A wedding ring was worn as her Something Old and was given to her to wear by her now Mother In Law.
Being that the wedding was held in Hollywood, we love that they chose to pay homage to that old Hollywood glamour style. Black tie style with white, black, and gold accents fitting of the Oscars. Danielle’s bridesmaids looked elegant in their Badgley Micshka gold sequin gowns which paired splendidly with the groomsmens black and white attire. Their reception was outside in a large courtyard park at The Beverly Garland Hotel and we love the vintage silhouette details seen throughout the reception decor.
A Kappa Kappa Gamma Sisterhood
Danielle initiated into the Epsilon Xi chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma during her time at California State University, Northridge. Her chapter was originally founded on November 16, 1974 and has initiated over 1,300 ladies to date. During her time at her sorority, she became close to many of the girls, she asked 6 of the ladies from her sisterhood to stand by her on this important day of her life. One of her sorority sisters even gifted Danielle with her Something Borrowed – a wedding veil from her own wedding.
Their Wedding Day Advice?
“Start buying the little things early on (gifts for your bridesmaids/groomsmen, personalized napkins, decor for the reception, table numbers, etc) so that you don’t feel like you’re buying everything at the end plus paying all your vendors at once. It makes the expenses seem more bearable. Also, put together a timeline and stick to it. It makes it so much easier if you do 1-2 things a week versus letting it build up and having to rush around doing everything last minute. If you purchase a planning notebook or download a planning app, the timeline will already be drafted for you to use.”
