Delta Sigma Theta + Alpha Phi Alpha Wedding | 06.20.15
We love all Greek weddings, but when both the bride & groom are in the Greek system… well, let’s just say we get extra giddy about it! And they wouldn’t have even met if it weren’t for one perfectly time encounter. Khoury was about to leave Northwestern University and head to law school, but before he did he had one last networking event commitment, the Urban Prep Academies at Wrigley Field. It was kismet that Ashlei happened to be working her very first event for the company. They began dating, and 4 and a half years later Khoury decided to ask Ashlei to remain by his side forever.
These two are very creative & we can’t get over the way that Khoury proposed! The couple was out on a date and as the night came to an end, Khoury handed Ashlei a gift. Inside she found a dress that Khoury had chosen & a note asking her to wear it the following Saturday. Naturally, Ashlei donned the gown & waited. Khoury arrived in a town car and swept her away into the snowy night on March 1st, 2014. Their night began at David Burke’s steakhouse, followed by the ballet where they saw “Alvin Ailey”. At the end of the evening, the car brought them to Khoury’s condo, where he asked her to remain at the door with her eyes closed.
He slipped inside and cued the music, the notes of Luther Vandross & Mariah Carey’s “Endless Love” began to fill the air. When Ashlei walked inside she followed a path of rose petals that led her to a slideshow of photographs from their relationship. On the kitchen island, Khoury had a chilled bottle of champagne, candles, & a small jewelry box which was monogrammed with an engraved ADC. Naturally, Ashlei said ‘Yes!’ when Khoury dropped to one knee & proposed.

They celebrated by Jumping the Broom after their vows.
Pink and coral paired with bold black and white stripes, similar to the style Kate Spade is famous for, filled the couples wedding day. We love the tribute that they paid to their proposal by including more monogrammed things – her veil, groomsmen flasks, hangers, & more can be seen throughout their wedding day.
Ashlei added Delta Sigma Theta pins to her bouquet.
After the couples sorority & fraternity brothers & sisters serenaded them on the dance floor. Ashlei slipped away & surprised her husband and their guests by reemerging wearing a new vibrant gold and black gown. We often see brides switch into a getaway dress, which is often a tea length white dress. This is such a fun alternative!
