Alpha Delta Pi + Phi Delta Theta Wedding | 12.10.16
This week the fabulous sisters of Alpha Delta Pi celebrated their Founder Day, so we only thought it appropriate to share this fabulous ADPi Wedding with y’all! Alpha Delta Pi was created on May 15th, 1851 as the Adelphean Society at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. In 1905, the Society changed its name and became Alpha Delta Phi. That’s right, Phi – not Pi! We love the unique history with this amazing sorority! The ADPi’s officially got their Pi status at the 1913 convention when the sisterhood voted to officially change their name to Alpha Delta Pi to separate any confusion between them and the Alpha Delta Phi men’s Fraternity.
Now that y’all have the DL on how the ADPi’s came to be, we’re going to dive right into this beautiful winter wedding in Music City! And, spoiler alert, Kate & Craig had a surprise guest at their reception. Which our hockey loving fans are going to obsess over, especially with the playoffs happening!
Getting ready robes are the best! And Kate had these cute winter inspired shirts for her girls to get ready in. What a perfect way to keep warm and set the tone for a Christmas time celebration! Kate’s winter inspired bouquet designed by Flowers by Emily is stunning and we can’t get over the tiny miniature pinecones along the bottom. We’re pretty certain that if you’re in a sorority you’re basically hardwired to automatically love monograms; so, of course, her bridal garters have us wishing every bride had these!
LOOK WHO STOPPED BY TO CELEBRATE!
As a huge surprise to these hockey loving newlyweds, their family had a guest visit from Nashville Predators mascot, Gnash! He hit the dance floor and their friends were doing the cupid shuffle & taking selfies with him. Such a popular and fun idea!
MAMA WAS AN ADPI, HONEY!
Kate is actually a legacy, her mother is also an Alpha Delta Pi, watching the two of them dance around and sing Grandma was an ADPi! We love when collegiates follow in their parents or grandparents legacies! It’s such a fun and unique connection that Kate and her mom share together. Craig and his Phi Delta Theta brothers serenaded his wife during the reception. This is one of our favorite traditions on a wedding day, and we hope it never goes out of style.
For their grand exit, Kate and Craig found sports bam bam sticks. This was a major hit with all of their wedding guests! The two newlywed Greeks rushed to the car and headed for their honeymoon — Barbados!
